Gardening With Kids - Gardening for Kids

The experiences that most of us naturally enjoyed as children now need to be intentionally recreated for today’s youngest generation. When we invite nature home, we create spaces that are great for children’s health, development, and well-being. And these spaces are just what nature needs too! Explore resources below.

Is your lawn hurting your kids?

Conventional lawns expose children to a multitude of harmful pesticides. These lawns also harm pollinators, songbirds, pets, and waterways. Equipment used to maintain lawns spews harmful emissions and creates harmful noise levels for children. Change for the better starts outside your door.

Some notes about kids and toxic plants

Kids are not goats! It’s hard to get kids to eat green vegetables, they don’t typically go around chewing on plants in the garden, many of which don’t taste good at all! Nevertheless, keeping children safe is important and one of the best ways to do that is by knowing the botanical names of all your plants!
