A cactus more at home here in Barrington than most lawns!

Meet our signature native plant - the Prickly Pear Cactus!

Eastern Prickly Pear (Opuntia humifusa) is New England’s native cactus. You read that right, there’s a cactus plant more at home here than most Barrington lawns & gardens! Prickly Pear, a model of resilience and a great source of food & protection for wildlife is the inspiration for Prickly Ed’s Cactus Patch 🌵.

Prickly Pear Cacti are much more than just a pretty face in the plant world. Their ability to thrive in tough environments, their role in supporting wildlife, and their cultural significance make them truly remarkable plants.
